“Beaten and pushed against sink”: ships in tight shoes after victim testifies to traffic aggression | Zwevegem

The traffic rage took place four weeks ago in Zwevegem. A French woman, who works for metal company Fomeco, refused to give way to a car at an intersection. At the wheel was ships Marc Desloovere. He got angry and decided to follow the woman. He drove onto the Fomeco grounds and even chased the woman into the dressing room.

It is not clear what happened after that. Alderman Marc Desloovere claims that he only followed her there to start the conversation. He formally denies that he would have physically assaulted that woman. The woman experienced those facts differently, it now appears.

The regional television channel Focus Wtv succeeded in finding her. Her testimony and that of her colleague leave nothing to the imagination. “He was violent and hit me, pushed me against the cupboards, the wall and the sink,” says the woman, who is French-speaking and lives in Roubaix. “I have been unable to work for 1.5 months and I am being guided by a psychologist and a physiotherapist. I have to take antidepressants to sleep. I have a medical certificate from the doctor for everything. The police even took pictures of my bruises.”

Her colleague Soufian Manai was the one who intervened during the argument between her and Desloovere. “The man went after her and the two of them entered the women’s dressing room. That seemed strange to me, so I followed them to have a look. Then I saw that he is pushing her while shouting. She fell, he attacked her and beat her. I took the man by the arm and pulled him away. But he didn’t stop. He was so upset that we thought he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.”

A judicial investigation is currently underway. Both Desloovere and the lady filed a complaint against each other. Alderman Desloovere has already relinquished his Mobility authority to the mayor, pending that investigation.
