Beachgoers are enjoying the warm weather while they still can, after this weekend it will be over

On the beach of Egmond aan Zee it’s pretty busy. Day trippers enjoy the sand to the fullest and cool off in the water here and there. While you still can, because after the weekend it will be more volatile.

It was quite rainy last week and the showers will also be around the corner from Monday. But today it will remain mostly dry. And quite sunny, with temperatures of around 20 degrees. It is therefore quite warm for the time of year. Here and there it can even shoot up to 22 degrees.

Tomorrow, Mother’s Day, what will it look like? Also about the same temperatures as today, around 20 degrees. There is a chance that a shower will fall.

After the weekend a different picture

The shorts weather like today and tomorrow may still be Monday, but lower temperatures are expected. It will be around 17 degrees. The chance of showers increases. Especially around Tuesday it will be rainy with degrees of around 12. Then the jacket can really be put on again.

As the week progresses, temperatures will gradually rise again. But certainly not such warm days as they are now. So beachgoers beware: make the most of it today or tomorrow.

Below are some images of how day-trippers in Egmond aan Zee try to cool down, such as this man defying the waves.

Or these two who – for now alone – dip their feet in the cold water.

A lifeboat from the Royal Dutch Rescue Company is also there to ensure that everything on and around the water runs safely. Today is National Lifeboat Day, where rescue workers give a look behind the scenes.
