Beach couple Brouwer and Meeuwsen lose the final of the first Elite 16

Beach volleyball players Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen failed to win the Elite 16 tournament in Rosarito, Mexico. The Dutch duo lost in straight sets to the first seeded couple Cherif Younousse/Ahmed Tijan from Qatar: 17-21 15-21.

In the Elite 16, a new tournament on the international Beach Pro Tour, only the best sixteen teams in the world are allowed to participate in both the women and the men.

With the women, Katja Stam and Raïsa Schoon are in the final. They play against Anastasija Kravcenoka and Tina Graudina from Latvia.
