We have to watch the roads tonight and tomorrow morning. The KNMI has issued an orange code for the entire province for slippery roads from 6 p.m. tonight.

It was already very slippery on the roads in recent days, but then there was… code yellow issued. In the coastal provinces, code orange has now been issued for local rain on a frozen surface, caused by showers moving from the sea onto the land.

The KNMI warning applies from 6 p.m. tonight until 3 a.m. tonight. But be careful: after that it is code yellow again. Drivers must therefore remain vigilant.

Rijkswaterstaat recommends only going on the road if there is absolutely no other option.

What was code orange again?

There is a high chance of dangerous or extreme weather with a major impact and a risk of damage, injury or a lot of inconvenience. This can be very local. Code orange can be issued 24 hours in advance if the chance of extreme weather is 60 percent or more.
