Be careful: downpours cause water ballet on the N99

At various points on the road between Den Oever and the Kooybrug, the N99, road users must pay close attention today. The downpours of recent days have caused a large amount of water on the road, reports Noordkop Region.

At the roundabout after the exit towards Hippolytushoef, the road is half full of water. And also at the viaduct at Westerland, the water from the viaduct flows over the entire width of the N99.

Rijkswaterstaat has now placed warning signs to inform road users about flooding on the road. According to Rijkswaterstaat, there is a defect in the water pumps and a contractor has been called in to solve the water problem.

In March 2020, things also went wrong on this road after a heavy rain shower. The water pumps were then unable to drain the amount of water properly or became defective. In view of the upcoming weather in which a lot of rain is expected, especially on Thursday, you must continue to be careful on the N99
