BC Ostend on 1 match of ‘Heaven Eleven’
The surprising defeat at Mechelen last Monday demanded an answer from BCO. And that answer came. Ostend could count on its Americans, Booth and Randolph, and was clearly one size too strong for Kangaroos Mechelen before the break. Halfway through, BCO already led with a 20-point bonus: 50-30. (26-18 in the first quarter, 24-12 in the second)
Mechelen kept pace in the second half. The offensive punch failed to hit the home side. Mechelen narrowly won both the third and fourth quarters. But Ostend never lost control, and can thus become champion again the day after tomorrow Friday. Then it has to win this play-off final for the first time at Mechelen.
