BBL: Baskets Bonn continue winning streak in Bayreuth – basketball – sport

In the second round, the Bonn team steadily expanded their leadership again. 41 seconds before the end there were 13 points (47:34) after a converted free throw by the now towering Morgan. At halftime, the American had 18 points.

Second Bayreuth final sprint with two three-pointers

The fact that the lead was so high was due not least to ten ball losses by Bayreuth and nine offensive rebounds by the guests from Bonn. But as in the opening quarter, the Bayreuthers shone in the final sprint with two transformed three-pointers and were able to make the result a little more conciliatory (40:47).

However, it did not remain forgiving for long after the break. When Morgan successfully completed a lay-up after just under four minutes, the Bonn team was 16 points ahead for the first time (60:44).

Offensive rebounds and ball losses are decisive for the game

Up until then, the Rhinelander from the triple line were not as dangerous as usual – it was their offensive rebounds and the lost balls of the Bayreuthers that gave them clear advantages.

At the end of the quarter, the Bonners were spared a three-way finals for the home side. On the contrary: after five unsuccessful attempts, Skyler Bowlin from Bonn finally found his way back to his old three-way strength and secured his team a 20-point lead with two hits in the final minute (73:53).

Bowlin adds up in the final quarter

In the final section, Bowlin followed suit from the three-point and free-throw line and, with 19 points, became the second best scorer in Bonn, behind Morgan. The coach Tuomas Iisalo also gave him more time-outs because the preliminary decision in the game had long since been made.

Morgan remained the Rhinelander’s best thrower with 23 points and was only surpassed by the Bayreuth Sacar Anim (27). The Bonners were denied a three-digit victory. The game ended with 96:71 for the guests.
