For a long time, Alba Berlin was behind in the basketball Bundesliga against Bayreuth – and then had a very strong final run. Ludwigsburg also got a win.
Alba Berlin narrowly avoided the second defeat of the season in the basketball Bundesliga. On Saturday evening (December 10th, 2022) the Berliners defeated Bayreuth with 91:83 (40:49) after a strong final sprint.
The defending champion ran behind almost the entire game in front of a home crowd. In the last quarter, Berlin was at times 15 points behind. But that seemed like a wake-up call. In the end, the hosts put on a 24-0 run and were still able to secure victory. Best Berlin throwers were Jaleen Smith 17 and Yovel Zoosman with 14 points.
Ludwigsburg stays on top
The giants Ludwigsburg also continue to establish themselves in the BBL top group. In the 90:76 (40:37) against BG Göttingen, the giants could rely on their shooting guard Isaiah Whitebread (24 points). With seven wins and two defeats, Ludwigsburg claims fourth place.
Thanks to a 95:79 (41:45) against Braunschweig with their fourth win of the season, the Academics Heidelberg initially moved away from the relegation places. With a strong quota from the three-point line, Heidelberg set itself apart in the final quarter and secured victory. The most successful pitcher for the Academics was Eric Washington with 22 points.
