BBC presenter accused of sexual misconduct is Huw Edwards | show

The BBC presenter accused of sexual misconduct is Huw Edwards. His wife Vicky Flind revealed this in a statement, which was also prepared on behalf of the presenter. “Huw suffers from serious psychological problems,” she writes in the statement.

The family has had five ‘extremely difficult days’, it can be read, among other things. To protect Edwards’ “mental well-being” and their children, they have decided to make a statement. It says that Edwards suffers from serious psychological problems and that he has been treated for major depression in recent years.

“The events of the past few days have made the situation worse,” writes Flind. Edwards, who announced the death of the British Queen Elizabeth live on TV last year, has now been admitted to a hospital and will have to stay there for the time being. “When he feels better, he plans to respond to the stories that have been published.”

Allegations

Four young people have so far come forward with allegations against the discredited BBC presenter. Edwards allegedly engaged in sexual misconduct against some teenagers. Initially, there were two reports.

The third allegation came from a 23-year-old. It reported that the presenter had sent amounts of money several times and that the two had seen each other a number of times during the corona lockdown. A fourth report was about ‘creepy and dirty messages’ via Instagram to a then 17-year-old. It was about messages with hearts and kisses.

The first report came out on July 8 in an interview in the British newspaper The Sun. The parents of the alleged victim said that the presenter would have paid money to a person underage at the time for explicit images. It would be 35,000 British pounds, converted about 41,000 euros. However, the alleged victim’s lawyer himself said that there was nothing true about this story. The second reporter is in his early twenties and got to know the man through a dating app. The person claims that Edwards then sent threatening messages because he was afraid his identity would be revealed.
