BBB and Water Naturally intended coalition partners in two Drenthe water boards

Newcomer BoerBurgerBeweging (BBB) will probably form the coalition of the Hunze en Aa’s water board with Water Naturally, PvdA and Geborgd Onbouw. That is the conclusion that scout Janneke Snijder draws after discussions with all factions. The coalition formation in the Drents Overijsselse Delta Water Board also seems to be heading in that direction.

Snijder calls a collaboration between those four parties “the most obvious and most promising for the formation of a day-to-day management”. Furthermore, the intended coalition of a total of sixteen seats does its justice to the election results with sufficient support in the general board. This is a kind of municipal council, supplemented by other stakeholders such as residents, farmers and nature managers.

The previous coalition also included Water Naturally, PvdA and Geborgd Onbouw, which was then supplemented by the ChristenUnie. So the last part is dropped.

In the coming period, Snijder, who is also a former member of parliament of the VVD, will be allowed to further supervise the composition of a coalition agreement. In Hunze en Aa’s, BBB became the largest with six seats, closely followed by Water Natural with five seats.

In the Drents Overijsselse Delta Water Board, BBB also talks further with Water Natural and Secured On Construction. The last party consists of a fixed number of seats, reserved for farmers. That trio is supplemented by the VVD. This is done on the advice of scout Piet Zoon.

“During these talks, it is discussed, among other things, whether the various factions can find each other sufficiently in further cooperation. The ultimate goal is to reach a coalition agreement in outline and the formation of a new executive board.”

In Drents Overijsselse Delta, BBB became by far the largest party with nine seats. Water Naturally follows in second place with five seats.
