B&B Vol Liefde milked too much? ‘This is what the viewing figures say’

After B&B Vol Liefde in the summer, RTL 4 started the winter edition last night: Winter Vol Liefde. Every day at prime time on television. Isn’t the formula being milked too much?

It is completely understandable that RTL’s TV boss Peter van der Vorst also wanted to try a winter edition after the immense success of B&B Vol Liefde. You can fill your entire prime-time programming with the program five evenings a week: nice and easy. And more importantly: the viewing figures are good, also in the commercial target group.

Almost the same

There is only one thing: in the TV world there is always overkill on the rudder. It is a delicate balance: sometimes the viewer cannot get enough of something, but there is always a tipping point at which it becomes too much. And guarding that border is not easy. How are things going with Winter Full of Love? What do the viewing figures say?

Winter Vol Liefde started successfully last night at half past eight, reports ratings authority Tina Nijkamp analysis channel. “The winter version of B&B Vol Liefde starts almost at the same time as the original started last summer. 944 thousand viewers vs 984 thousand viewers.”

Higher than The Smartest

The first number, 944 thousand, is for Winter Full of Love. This includes a market share of no less than 26 percent in the commercial target group 25 to 54 years old. For comparison: De Slimste Mens, another daily TV hit that started again last night, scored 1.8 million viewers, but ‘only’ 19 percent in that target group.

RTL 4’s Winter Vol Liefde wins in the target group that is most important from a commercial perspective.” A great result and RTL 4 will breathe a sigh of relief because Peter van der Vorst and his team will also have thought: we are not milking it too much, too fast. out? So no. Time for cake!”

Ratings ravine

NPO 1 scores, RTL 4 scores, but how are things actually going with the third flagship of Dutch TV, SBS 6? “The Meilandjes with their compilation, Het Allerbeste Van, are collapsing into the viewing figures: only 433 thousand viewers. That is about 800,000 fewer viewers than with the regular episodes.”

Oops, that’s not good. The Meilandjes can therefore get drunk in Noordwijk because of their misery. Wines, wines, wines!
