Nabaz, 38, is one of the residents of the new season of Big Brother. The man who moved to Finland from Iraq as a little boy has experienced all kinds of things in his life, which has finally shaped him into a person who brings joy to those around him.
Nabaz, who has three vocational school degrees, currently works as a barber-hairdresser, but has also previously studied to become a nurse and a waiter.
When Nabaz was a child, his family moved away from Iraqi Kurdistan. First they lived for four years in Turkey, after which they moved to Finland and Tammisaari.
In the Swedish-speaking area, their family was the only foreigner, so Nabaz and his sister were the eyesores. Nabaz was especially bullied and had to endure heavy teasing.
– I was bullied the whole time at school. Even in vocational school. They called me a freak and alienated foreignness.
Nabaz, who has grown into a good-natured and cheerful person, is not bitter towards the school friends who bullied him. He understands that they were children and did not understand what they were doing.
Instead, he has not forgiven the teachers who bullied him. For Nabazi, who suffers from dyslexia, studying in a foreign language brought difficulties.
– They could laugh at me in front of the whole class about how I didn’t understand or know things. The teachers knew about my dyslexia and did it anyway.
Loves drama
In the BB house, he plans to look for the people he thinks are smart gamblers. Nabaz is going to have a good fight with them in order to get far himself.
He also plans to act as a gossip bell in the house, because he plans to tell if he hears others scheming behind their backs.
– That’s my game tactic. If I hear that one person is talking to another, I’m going to pass it on to the other person.
Nabaz says that he loves watching the drama, but doesn’t want to be at the center of it himself.
– I hope there will be drama in the house! Then I have to think about whose side I will take in which situation.
