Bayern women win top game against Frankfurt

Munich (dpa) – The footballers of FC Bayern Munich have at least temporarily taken over the top of the Bundesliga table.

In the top game against Eintracht Frankfurt, the defending champions held their ground 4-2 (1-2). After an early lead thanks to Maximiliane Rall’s goal (5th minute), the hosts were initially 2-1 behind. But Lea Schüller (51′), Viviane Asseyi (79′) and Jovana Damnjanovic in added time led their team to victory with more goals.

Laura Freigang (27th) and Nicole Anyomi (42nd) scored for Frankfurt, third in the table. VfL Wolfsburg meets TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Saturday and can overtake Munich again with a win.
