Bayern star Mané seals Brazil bankruptcy

Soccer record world champion Brazil has missed its third international victory after the World Cup disappointment. The Selecao lost 4-2 (1-1) to African champions Senegal at the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon.

Lucas Paqueta (11th), assisted by Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior, initially gave Brazil the lead. Goals from Habib Diallo (22′), Marquinhos (53′, own goal) and a brace from Bayern Munich’s Sadio Mané (56′, 90’+8′, penalty kick) turned the game around for Senegal. Marquinhos (58th) managed to catch up.

For the third time after the 2-1 draw at World Cup fourth-placed Morocco in March, interim coach Ramon Menezes looked after the Brazilians. Real coach Carlo Ancelotti is still the preferred candidate to succeed head coach Tite.
