Bayern Munich | Two surprise candidates traded as new replacements

Four seasoned goalkeepers are currently under contract with FC Bayern. The problem: The regular number one Manuel Neuer is still not completely fit, the competitors Yann Sommer and Alexander Nübel want to leave as soon as possible. That’s why the Munich decision-makers are thinking about getting another goalkeeper to compete with backup Sven Ulreich. Two surprising names are doing the rounds in this regard.

On Monday afternoon, Bayern’s new CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen made no secret of the fact that Manuel Neuer still has special status with the German record champions.

“When Manuel listens to himself and tells us: I’m coming back and I want to attack again and I want to reach the old level – who would we be if we didn’t have this trust in him?” said Dreesen: “He’s not just a deserving player, he’s a world-class goalkeeper, has helped win titles for us at the highest level for years.”

However, it will probably not be enough for a comeback at the Bundesliga opener on August 18th at Werder Bremen. At the same time, Yann Sommer, who was brought in from Gladbach as a replacement for Neuer in the winter, and Alexander Nübel, who has returned on loan, are looking for new challenges. Reason enough for the FCB bosses to look for alternatives for the goal.

Two surprise candidates at FC Bayern

According to a “Sky” report, the two goalkeepers Thomas Strakosha (28, FC Brentford) and Dominik Kotarski (23, PAOK Saloniki) have become the focus of Bayern.

The latter is said to have a “very high opinion” in Munich. Both are contractually bound to their current employers until 2026.

A crucial difference: While the Albanian Strakosha is only number two in Brentford, Croatian hope Kotarski is the undisputed regular in Greece.

Other candidates are Giorgi Mamardashvili (22, Valencia FC) and Bono (32, Sevilla FC).
