The struggle of schools in underprivileged neighbourhoods: ‘Children aged 4 sometimes don’t speak Dutch yet’
In the fight against inequality of opportunity among children, eleven schools in Dordrecht will receive extra money from the municipality for ten years, a total of 27.5 million euros. They can use that money, for example for extra language lessons. “We have children who do not speak Dutch at the age of 4.”
