Oliver Kahn’s era at FC Bayern will probably end in a few days. It is still unclear whether, in addition to the board of directors, sports director Hasan Salihamidzic will also be shown the red card by the supervisory board. Corresponding rumors have been circulating for some time. Likewise about the possible Brazzo heir, which could be Arjen Robben.
After “Sky” already reported this week that Arjen Robben could be a possible successor to FC Bayern as Salihamidzic, the “Abendzeitung” is now following suit. There, too, it is said that the name of the Dutchman can be heard “more and more often” on Säbener Straße.
Ex-national player Dietmar Hamann believes in the success of such a personal construct. “I could well imagine Robben as a link between the team and the board at Bayern,” he told “AZ”. The former professional sees Robben “perhaps from a sports director or team manager”.
At the same time, however, he also emphasized that he would most likely welcome a continuation of the collaboration with Kahn and Salihamidzic. “That would be the most sympathetic solution,” said Hamann about a possible “probation chance” of the currently heavily counted duo.
Schweinsteiger’s return to Bayern Munich is not (yet) an issue
Should FC Bayern pull the ripcord, Robben would be a top candidate as Brazzo heir in Hamann’s eyes, because in this case it would be “good if someone who knows the club very well” follows.
Another name that has already been associated with a leadership position at the record champions is that of Bastian Schweinsteiger. He would also be someone who knows the club and its inner workings inside and out.
According to “AZ”, the club legend is “rather out of the question” for such a role as of today. Schweinsteiger feels “very comfortable” in his current role as an outside observer.
