Bayern Munich | Rummenigge admits: “I miss Lewandowski”

Ex-board boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge sees FC Bayern Munich’s squad planning extremely positively, also because of the current transfers.

“I would describe the offensive as the fastest offensive in all of Europe,” the 66-year-old praised the squad planning of sports director Hasan Salihamidzic in the “Sky” interview. “He made good transfers. And if you look at Bayern Munich’s first games now, especially in attack, you can say that everything they came up with worked very well.”

Rummenigge worked as CEO for Munich until the summer of 2021 and then handed it over to Oliver Kahn. Although Munich’s new offensive works well from his point of view, he would not have had anything against Robert Lewandowski staying.

“Yes, I miss him,” admitted Rummenigge. “One must not forget that thanks to Robert Lewandowski we have won many, many titles.”

He recently even watched the FC Barcelona game to see how Lewandowski was doing at his new club. “Unfortunately not in the way he certainly wanted and imagined,” he said, referring to the Catalans’ 0-0 draw against Rayo Vallecano last Saturday.
