Thomas Müller has lost his regular place at FC Bayern in recent weeks. According to a report, the veteran is therefore considering leaving Munich.
Will Thomas Müller’s 14th professional season at Bayern also be his last? Rumors of a certain dissatisfaction with the 33-year-old have recently been circulating, now “Sport Bild” is pouring oil on the fire.
The experienced offensive player, who is only a noble joker under the new coach Thomas Tuchel, should therefore “seriously” play with the idea of leaving the record champions before the end of his contract, which runs until 2024.
Müller is certain that he wants to play at the highest level for at least one more season. A premature end to his career is therefore not an option for the long-running hit, and even a transfer within the Bundesliga “cannot be ruled out”.
In 2022/2023, the fan favorite has made 37 competitive appearances and been involved in 18 goals (seven goals, eleven assists).
FC Bayern: Thomas Müller should “miss appreciation”
Müller is said to be willing to “take the initiative” if he doesn’t start again soon. So far, however, there have been no talks with his superiors, nor with other clubs.
According to “Sport Bild” information, the Bayern star also misses “the appreciation in the club”. He was “tired” of having to prove his worth every time there was a change of coach.
If the worst comes to the worst, there should be no shortage of interested parties: Müller is said to have had two offers from the US MLS, and he is also in demand in Saudi Arabia.
However, the trophy collector is said to be aiming for a more demanding challenge. He wants to “play for a title again at a top club in Europe,” it says.
The fact is: Keeping such a deserving player like Müller against his will is out of the question for FC Bayern. It seems as if only a regular place could convince him to stay.
