He’s actually something like Manuel Neuer’s crown prince at FC Bayern: Alexander Nübel, who is currently still on loan for AS Monaco, but has a long-term contract with the German record champions until 2025. The Bayern bosses are currently not really trying to have a positive relationship with the current France legionnaire, as has now become known once again.
Ever since the serious injury to first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer became known after a skiing accident (broken tibia and fibula), there has been wild speculation around FC Bayern about the goalkeeper question. FCB board boss Oliver Kahn also made it clear in the “kicker” that one would “take it easy and think about it”.
However, it already seems clear that a spontaneous return campaign by Alexander Nübel will not come about during the winter break.
According to the “kicker” information, the player side was contacted by the Bayern bosses immediately after the Neuer injury became known. However, neither the 26-year-old himself nor the ambitious AS Monaco are currently interested in ending the loan deal prematurely.
FC Bayern: Keeper Nübel has four offers on the table
From the goalkeeper’s point of view, the current connection to the German record champions is more than poor anyway. The relationship with goalkeeping coach Toni Tapalovic was already considered cold during Nübel’s only season in Munich 2020/2021. And there hasn’t been a single conversation with Bayern’s head coach Julian Nagelsmann to date, the media report said.
As things stand, it is still extremely questionable whether Nübel will even go back to Säbener Straße in the summer.
Four quite attractive offers should be on the table for the goalkeeper. Three of them from the English Premier League, one from the Bundesliga.
The native of Paderborn is currently contractually tied to FC Bayern for two and a half years. Efforts by the club to extend the contract even longer with Nübel have not been successful to date.
