In the past few weeks, defender Pau Torres has been traded more and more hotly as a transfer target for FC Bayern. Now the people of Munich are said to have gotten a solvent competitor from the English Premier League.
Aston Villa is said to have significantly intensified its efforts to transfer the Spanish international to the island. At least that’s what the “Mundo Deportivo” reported.
According to the newspaper report, the 26-year-old is to be steered to Birmingham, where team manager Unai Emery and sporting director Monchi, two of Pau Torres’ Spanish compatriots, will be responsible for the sport and help Aston Villa regain its former glory.
The central defender is said to have a fixed transfer fee of 60 million euros in his contract. With the remaining contract term of only one year, FC Villarreal could definitely be willing to negotiate again. According to ‘Mundo Deportivo’, Aston Villa are currently hoping to sign Torres for around €30-35m.
FC Bayern is also said to have expressed an interest in Pau Torres. Above all, the German record champions want to appear on the scene if Lucas Hernández, who is willing to emigrate, actually says goodbye to Munich after four years. The 2018 world champion is said to have already agreed verbally with Paris Saint-Germain on a transfer.
At Bayern, those responsible are said to have reacted with great disappointment to the Frenchman’s intention to change, as the club has always stood behind the defender in recent years despite several serious injuries. Even during a court case against Hernández two years ago, the people of Munich had known about the 27-year-old.
If Hernández actually leaves the club for Paris, Pau Torres could once again be targeted by Munich if Aston Villa has not already made a decision.
In Munich, according to consistent media reports, the Spaniard is considered the hottest iron in the transfer fire after the South Korean Min-jae Kim when it comes to a commitment this summer.
The third hot interest in the 1.91 m giant Torres is said to be Juventus Turin, who was also identified by the Spanish source as a contender for a Torres transfer.
