Bayern Munich | Oliver Kahn: Manuel Neuer “is never satisfied”

In any case, no one should deny that Manuel Neuer is a shining light in German football. On Saturday, however, the FC Bayern goalkeeper set a record that once again underpins his exceptional position.

In FC Bayern’s 4-0 win against Union Berlin, Manuel Neuer celebrated his 311th victory in the German Bundesliga in his 460th game. No player in the history of the German House of Lords could bring in more threes. Neuer outperformed Oliver Kahn, who is now CEO of Munich and has now showered Neuer with praise.

“Manuel is the typical example of the culture at FC Bayern: When it comes to titles, records and personal awards, he is very greedy,” Kahn says on “fcbayern.com” quotes: “Manuel is an absolute phenomenon. He’s the captain. He’s very important when he’s on the pitch as a leader.”

In a tweet from FC Bayern, Kahn added: “He shows no signs of fatigue. He’s never satisfied.”

Bavaria’s sports director Hasan Salihamidzic also rolls over with praise.

“Manuel changed goalkeeping like no other goalkeeper before him. He’s been playing consistently at a world-class level for more than a decade, he’s won everything there is to win with FC Bayern, he’s football world champion and now he is too Bundesliga record player,” said the 45-year-old. “Manuel is one of the most important players in the history of FC Bayern and one of the greatest goalkeepers in world football. We are happy that he is our captain, a role model on and off the pitch.”

In view of these statements, there should be little doubt that Manuel Neuer will continue to guard the goal of the German record champions in the future. The contract of the 35-year-old ends in the summer of 2023, an extension until the end of June 2025 is in the room.
