Although the transfer window in Germany has long since closed, FC Bayern could still announce another departure in the near future. The future of youngster Nemanja Motika is still not finally clear.
It is known that the 18-year-old is about to move to Serbia’s top club Red Star Belgrade. However, the transfer has not yet been officially confirmed.
Red Star has until February 11 to finalize the transfer. Until then, the transfer window is still open in Serbia, which allows the club to sign players.
According to “Bild” football boss Christian Falk, the Belgraders are ready to shell out a whopping 2.5 million euros for Motika. A high price for the teenager, who has not yet played a single competitive game for FC Bayern’s professional team.
FC Bayern has secured a buyback option
As the Bayern reporter further reported, the Munich-based company would not completely say goodbye to the personnel with a sale of the native Berliner.
The record champion is said to have contractually secured a buyback option. In plain language: If Motika in the Red Star Belgrade jersey develops as hoped in one of the top European leagues, FC Bayern could buy the winger back in the future for a predetermined sum.
In the current season, Motika has appeared primarily as a goalscorer in FC Bayern’s U23s. In the Regionalliga Bayern he scored a strong 15 times in 24 games and ranks third in the list of top scorers in the fourth-tier league.
Nemanja Motika has both German and Serbian citizenship and played for the Serbian U19 national team last year. For the FC Bayern professional team under head coach Julian Nagelsmann, he has been called up once to the match day squad, but has not played a minute.
