Bayern Munich | Napoli boss confirms Kim’s farewell: “Won’t stay with us any longer”

SSC Napoli has come to terms with the imminent transfer of defender Min-jae Kim, who has been traded as a new signing at FC Bayern Munich.

He knows that “Kim will not stay with us any longer,” said the new SSC head coach Rudi Garcia. Although the coach did not name Munich as the goal of the central defender, he did talk about possible successors. “For me there is no rush. The most important thing is to find a defender who suits us best,” said Garcia.

There has been speculation about Kim’s transfer to Bayern for weeks. The 26-year-old South Korean is said to have already completed the medical check and received a five-year contract with the German record champions. Kim allegedly has an exit clause in the contract in Naples, and according to media reports the fixed transfer fee is 50 million euros.

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel did not want to confirm the transfer that was considered safe at the start of the training camp at Tegernsee. They want to replace Lucas Hernández, who moved to Paris Saint-Germain, “it’s no longer the biggest secret which player it’s about,” said Tuchel. An attempt will be made “to report completion in the next few days in order to close the gap”.
