Bayern Munich | Media: This is how the Bayern bosses stand on Hernández’s future

Lucas Hernández has been under contract with FC Bayern since 2019. If the French world champion has his way, the engagement with the German record champions could probably continue in the long term.

This week it was already said in several sources that the signs between FC Bayern and Lucas Hernández are in principle pointing to early extension. After his initial difficulties, the 26-year-old finally developed as expected at Bayern Munich and got many minutes before his recent muscle injury.

Now also reported “sky“-Reporter and transfer expert Florian Plettenberg that the German branch Croesus basically wants to extend with the defensive player.

Due to the contract term until the summer of 2024, the protagonists on the executive floor of FC Bayern are in no rush to report completion this calendar year.

FC Bayern has already extended with many stars

According to the expert assessment, a hasty agreement on the matter of extending the contract is not to be expected “these days”. As far as personnel planning at the German record champions is concerned, those responsible for sports director Hasan Salihamidzic have already done a lot of preparatory work in recent months.

The only working papers that expire in the summer of 2023 are those of the two 34- and 33-year-old veterans Sven Ulreich and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. All other top performers of the current second in the Bundesliga are still equipped with multi-year contracts.

In addition to Lucas Hernández, the contracts of Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller, among others, will expire after the 2023/2024 season. Both had only extended their terms by another season with Munich this year.

Hernández has been out since September with a torn muscle.
