Matthäus was also bothered by Neuer’s statement that the dismissal of goalkeeping coach Toni Tapalovic felt as if his heart had been ripped out. “Nobody died here. Someone was fired. Hasan Salihamidzic also sharply criticized Neuer and announced a thorough review. “I understand that Manuel is personally affected. But I would have expected different behavior from him, especially as captain,” said Salihamidzic of “Bild am Sonntag”.
