Bayern Munich | Lucas Hernandez before extra time

In the summer of 2019, FC Bayern went to its financial pain limit and transferred a whopping 80 million euros to Atlético Madrid for the services of Lucas Hernández. After initially finding it difficult to get going, the currently injured Frenchman advanced to become a top performer in Munich’s defence. Now there are some indications that Hernández will be playing on Säbener Straße for a long time to come.

“Sky” reporter Florian Plettenberg claims to have learned that Hernández and FC Bayern are about to agree on an extension of the contract that expires in 2024.

There is talk of “very good and positive talks. It can actually happen quickly that Hernandez extends a long-term contract with FC Bayern.” Financially, too, it is a mutually beneficial agreement.

Hernandez tore his cruciate ligament during the World Cup in Qatar. The most serious injury to date for the central defender, who has had to cope with many health setbacks in his career. A circumstance that does not seem to intimidate FC Bayern.

Hernández has made 107 competitive appearances for Bayern Munich (2 goals/8 assists).

Harry Kane no longer an option for FC Bayern?

Plettenberg also announced something new with regard to FC Bayern’s attack department. The rumors that Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur plays a prominent role in the future plans of the German record champions do not seem to be true.

“The track to Bavaria is very, very cold. There are currently no talks,” reveals Plettenberg.

Kane, who is currently the third most successful attacker in the history of the English Premier League with 203 goals in 309 league games, has been traded as a potential new top star in FC Bayern’s attack center for months. However, Tottenham is likely to call for a transfer of around 100 million euros before the end of Kane’s contract in the summer of 2024. Money that Bayern should hardly invest for the 29-year-old.

“I can imagine that one day a player will come to Bayern Munich who can cost around 100 million, but I have expressed my opinion specifically on the Kane case. He is almost 30 years old and last year Tottenham had 160 million -Manchester City rejected the offer. That’s why I said, in this case, it would be gaga if FC Bayern approached such a transfer, “said Bayern’s honorary president Uli Hoeneß on “Sky”.
