Jamal Musiala is one of the winners of the young season at FC Bayern. Record international Lothar Matthäus believes the attacking midfielder can have a great career.
“He has all the skills, has everything to be a world-class player,” the 61-year-old ennobled Musiala in an interview with the “picture on sunday“.
Matthäus enthused: “This lightness, his speed, his technical skills, his playing quality and how he perceives game situations. Before the ball comes, he already knows what he’s going to do with it, picks up the pace and is always offensively oriented. Brilliant, I would almost say.”
Right at the start of the season, Musiala shone in the Supercup against RB Leipzig (5:3) with a goal and an assist. “In the end it’s quite simple. I praised him a lot myself, but in the end he knows: if he doesn’t perform, he doesn’t play. He has to confirm his performance,” Julian Nagelsmann then demanded of the 19-year-old.
Musiala confirms impressive early form
On the first day of the Bundesliga match, the international then confirmed his impressive early form with a brace against Eintracht Frankfurt (6-1).
Afterwards, Matthäus had already raved about Musiala. “He has the opportunity and potential, also because he plays in a top club, to be the best of the best at some point,” said the 1990 world champion on “Sky”.
“Acting speed, football intelligence, speed, technique, dribbling, goal risk, eye for teammates, assertiveness and what impresses me most of all is that he perceives many situations before he gets the ball, especially in the game going forward.” Matthäus the strengths of the youngster, who should play an even bigger role at FC Bayern in the future.
