Bayern Munich | Lewandowski is said to have announced Barca’s desire to move

Although a departure this summer has already been ruled out several times by those responsible at FC Bayern, rumors persist that Robert Lewandowski could turn his back on Munich after the current season and join FC Barcelona. This scenario is now being fueled again from Spain.

The speculation about Robert Lewandowski’s engagement at FC Barcelona is “very hot”, at least that’s the opinion of Cordula Reinhardt from the Spanish sports newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” in the “Bild” podcast “Bavaria Insiders“.

Accordingly, the dynamic comes not least from Poland himself, who is said to have informed Barca “that he would like to come”. It has also been heard from the club environment that the Catalans are also interested in a commitment.

Especially since one would welcome a real coup on the transfer market as a result of the manageable sporting success in the current season, in which Barca were eliminated early in the Champions League and ultimately failed in the quarter-finals of the Europa League at Eintracht Frankfurt.

The deal would then come to the fore thematically and whitewash the sporting performance. “Robert Lewandowski will probably be mentioned very often in the next few days,” speculates Reinhardt.

Lewandowski would “earn a lot” if he left FC Bayern

The salary of 30 to 35 million euros that Lewandowski was allegedly offered by the Spaniards, which was recently rumored by “Sport Bild”, is “not realistic”. Lewandowski may even have to cut back on his current salary at FC Bayern, but in any case he will “earn well”.

At the moment, the Barca expert is certain that Barcelona do not yet have the wherewithal, but are already working on raising millions.

As a big plus in a possible poker game for the top scorer, Reinhardt cites the close friendship between Barca President Joan Laporta and Lewandowski’s advisor Pini Zahavi.

However, all of these circumstances do not mean that the transfer will actually take place in the end, Reinhardt concedes.

FC Bayern has the upper hand

FC Bayern currently has the upper hand anyway. Lewandowski is under contract at Säbener Straße until the end of June 2023.

“We definitely have Robert Lewandowski for another season,” Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn swept the rumors off the table in mid-April to “Amazon Prime Video”, followed by a word of power from sports boss Hasan Salihamidzic.

According to “Sport Bild”, however, the clear statements made by Lewandowski were not particularly well received. How the situation will develop if the 33-year-old openly expresses his desire to change is not yet foreseeable.
