Bayern Munich | Lahm regrets Lewandowski’s change plans: “It’s a shame”

Julian Nagelsmann can only be partially satisfied with his first season as Bayern Munich coach. Former Munich captain Philipp Lahm sees it that way and takes the trainer to task.

“A title is good, that’s the minimum. But in the long run, everyone knows that, a title at FC Bayern is not enough,” explained Lahm on Monday at the presentation of his new book “Healthy Can Anyone! “.

Lahm is relaxed about the fact that the record champions are currently very uneasy. “There was always something going on. FC Bayern has always polarized people, and has done so for 50 years,” emphasized the 38-year-old.

Lahm regrets the loss of Dortmund’s top scorer Erling Haaland and possibly Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski, who wants to move to FC Barcelona: “They are both absolutely world-class strikers who are leaving the Bundesliga. That’s a shame. The league needs top players like this of international caliber.”

He “can’t say” whether Lewandowski will be allowed to leave in the summer, Lahm continued: “It’s a shame that he’s leaving the Bundesliga at all and won’t stay in the Bundesliga until the end of his career.”

Lahm firmly believes in Eintracht Frankfurt

On Wednesday, the long-time Bayern star, tournament director of EURO 2024, will become a fan of Eintracht Frankfurt.

“Everyone in Germany is keeping their fingers crossed for them. They have made an incredible journey in the Europa League. The hearts of the Germans fly to them. Everyone supports Eintracht,” said Lahm before the final against Glasgow Rangers. His advice: “They should play the way they are known.”
