Bayern Munich | Kahn to Barca: “We’ll know what they’re doing there”

Club boss Oliver Kahn from FC Bayern, unlike coach Julian Nagelsmann, did not rate the transfer offensive of heavily indebted FC Barcelona.

“None of us can judge the internals from a distance. I find it a bit difficult to make judgments there. They’ll know what they’re doing,” said Kahn on Wednesday during the German record champions’ trip to the USA.

Barca’s debts are said to be well over a billion euros, but the club behaves as a transfer croesus and recently brought in Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski, among others. Nagelsmann pointedly commented that Barcelona are “the only club in the world that has no money but buys any player they want” and that it was “strange and crazy.”

Kahn was more reserved. “I assume that Barca have accumulated quite a bit of debt. But the only ones who know the figures are in the club itself. You have to be a bit cautious when you deal with the subject,” he said.
