Bayern Munich is working on saving gas and energy in the stadium

Bayern Munich is trying to save energy in various ways in the Allianz Arena, the stadium of the German top club. From now on, visitors can only wash their hands in the toilets with cold water. In addition, the lamps that illuminate the stadium on the outside remain on for a shorter period of time, reports the Bild newspaper.

Bayern is also moving away from gas-fired field heating. Instead, air heat pumps will be installed, which will get their energy from solar panels on the stadium. Bayern Munich is also adjusting the air conditioning in the stadium: a little less cool in the summer, a little less warm in the winter.

“We do everything in various areas to reduce our energy consumption in the long term,” says board member Jan-Christian Dreesen. “During the current energy crisis, we have intensified our activities in that area.”

Former Ajax players Matthijs de Ligt, Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui and Joshua Zirkzee play at Bayern Munich.
