Despite Thomas Tuchel’s catastrophic haul, Bayern Munich’s leadership is united behind the Munich head coach. According to a recent media report, the new coach will completely transform the squad in the summer, especially if the catastrophe scenario occurs and the championship goes to BVB.
The first signs of a squad reorganization at Bayern are recognizable, reports “Sky” reporter Florian Plettenberg. Thomas Tuchel will also have to make “unpopular” decisions. Means: Several seasoned Bayern stars are threatened with extinction.
The most recent initial formations that Tuchel had sent into the race in the past few weeks would provide clues. One name that stands out is Bayern veteran Thomas Müller. The offensive all-rounder has simply not worked under the new coach so far.
The 33-year-old has six goals and seven assists in 22 league games this season, with the exception of his top performance in Tuchel’s debut against BVB, when he scored two goals in the 4-2 win, Müller is limping miles behind his own standards and those of FC Bayern.
In the two games against Manchester City, the current captain spent a long time on the bench and only came onto the field in the final minutes.
Big squad changes at Bayern?
Most recently, TV expert Dietmar Hamann had put forward the thesis that Thomas Müller’s time at Bayern could end in the summer. The first few weeks under Thomas Tuchel showed that the original Bavarian would not play a major role in the coming season and would therefore have to think about his own future, argued the ex-national player.
According to Plettenberg, in addition to Müller, there are other Bayern stars who are currently fighting for their status. Sadio Mané, Serge Gnabry, Yann Sommer, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Dayot Upamecano are all completely out of shape.
“I am sure that Thomas Müller will say to three or four of these players that they will not play a role in the plans,” said the “Sky” reporter.
