Bayern Munich in Bremen | Voices: Tuchel is happy about the “solid game”

FC Bayern won 4-0 at SV Werder Bremen and thus made a perfect debut at the start of the Bundesliga. Coach Thomas Tuchel was satisfied after the game, but his counterpart from the Green-Whites, Ole Werner, saw the initial phase as a sticking point. These are the votes for the game:

The votes on Werder Bremen vs. FC Bayern (0: 4):

Niclas Full Pitcher (SV Werder Bremen) … about the game: “The pressing processes weren’t right in the first half and we were only rarely able to force them to play inaccurate balls. We didn’t achieve much there, but it was still only 1-0. We then came out of the half better and had good periods with one or two situations, but Bayern deserve to win it.”

… on the question of where Werder Bremen stands: “They were two extraordinary games. One with a man down for 80 minutes and one against Bayern. We played a decent game up to 2-0, but after that it’s too easy. Me I can’t say where we stand yet, but we’re fit. We ran a lot.”

… to the rumors about him: “No, that doesn’t interest me. The question is completely uninteresting and I’m not interested at all.”

Marco Friedl (Captain SV Werder Bremen) … about the game: “You can’t start a game more stupidly. You give Bayern all the strengths they have. After four minutes he runs from the center line to the goal alone and that can’t happen. After that you run after us. We have then basically defended well and came out of the half-time well. We then say that you go home 2-0, but you must never eat the two goals conceded in added time. 4-0 is extremely bitter then.”

… on the question of where Werder Bremen is: “It sounds extremely bitter and is also too high. We come out better in the second half and did well in the scenes that we watched at half-time. We had higher ones Winning the ball and being more aggressive. Then, when you have chances, you have to take them. We have to stay together because there’s another difficult game coming up next week. We can’t let our heads hang.”

… on the things that need to get better: “Different times are coming again. We played an incredibly bad game in Cologne and have conceded too many goals lately. We have to stop that as soon as possible. As hard as it sounds, but with every shot is dangerous for us. We have to take positives with us and have more confidence with the ball.”

Ole Werner (SV Werder Bremen coach) … about the game: “The goal against was the worst possible start to the game. We then defended a lot sensibly, but in the first half there was too little courage on the pitch in both directions. Especially at the beginning of the second half we we did it differently. If someone then falls in, it can also be another game. After the 0-2 we threw everything forward, but the bottom line was that the second half was much better than the first until the end. Against Bayern we can things go that way, but we’re still disappointed.”

… on the late goals: “It has nothing to do with the fact that we are no longer awake. We owe it to the spectators to play for a goal even late. It is also because we are still in some positions aren’t occupied as we would like. Then a striker has to play as a full-back and that’s when it becomes difficult.”

… on possible other newcomers: “We are in exchange and it is clear to everyone that we still need something. Certain positions are understaffed with us and in other positions one or the other is too many that we do not do justice to so movement needs to come in, but that’s going to happen.”

… on the starting XI of newcomer Senne Lynen (before the game): “We try to get him on the pitch as soon as possible. He was very present and trained very well. He brought balance to his old club, but still it’s a new league and a different kind of football.”

Harry Kane (scorer FC Bayern Munich) … about the game: “It was a good evening. It was a difficult game, but we started well with the early goal. It was difficult after that. Respect for Bremen, how they came out of the break, that’s where they got it made it very difficult for us. It was nice to score the second goal and then the guys who came in finished it off really well.”

… on whether he was nervous: “It was nervous anticipation. I’m very happy to start the season with my new club. I was a little nervous, but as soon as you’re on the pitch, the instinct kicks in again . It was a good result and I managed 80 minutes.”

… on the improvements compared to the Supercup: “It was definitely an improvement. Of course, the early goal helped, but we kept the ball running well afterwards. We could have used a few actions better to decide the game earlier . But we also defended better. The clean sheet also makes me very happy.”

Sven Ulreich (goalkeeper FC Bayern Munich) … about the game: “I feel good and we had good preparation. We then had a setback against Leipzig, but today we played exactly what we had planned for last week and what we were aiming for have worked out during the preparation.”

… on the improvements compared to the Supercup: “Not everything was bad last week, but we lacked a little greed and gall in the duels. We were able to do that from the start today. We had a concentrated passing game and a concentrated duel behavior. That was the decisive point, which is why things went differently today.”

… on the rumors about possible new goalkeepers: “Then maybe experience and age come into play. Also the experience of FC Bayern, because there are often topics and are discussed. I tried in training and in the to perform well in friendlies and I’m happy that I can be in goal in the next few games.”

Thomas Tuchel (FC Bayern Munich coach) … about the game: “We played a very solid, very good game and had no ups and downs. Neither in concentration nor in energy. There was a short phase in the second half in which we lost balls sloppily . We got through it together and then we were patient. We didn’t do any crazy things and we made the decision with the second goal. We had a good mix of ball control and quick attacks. That was good.”

… to the question of what he liked best: “That we kept a clean sheet and took the lead once. That’s good for all of us, but the mix was good. I had the feeling that we all worked together for 96 minutes have, and that’s a good move.”

… to Harry Kane: “Human, how he brings himself in and the way he trains is great. He starts immediately with an assist and then shoots in another one. It can go on like this.”

… to Manuel Neuer: “The prognosis has been reduced significantly, so we hope that he can start team training in two to three weeks and then we’ll see.”

… to a meeting at which he was forbidden to transfer a ‘holding six’ (before the game): “I won’t comment on that. We hold such meetings behind closed doors and that’s why the content of this meeting remains the same us.”

Jan-Christian Dreesen (CEO FC Bayern Munich) … at the beginning of his new position (before the game): “It’s a special situation. The first few weeks were very exhausting, but we can draw a good conclusion in principle. We have exciting newcomers and the Bundesliga fans can look forward to great games.”

… on Harry Kane’s transfer (before the game): “I’m delighted that we managed to get the captain of the English national team into the Bundesliga. It’s a great thing and shows that the Bundesliga is still an attraction We’ve stretched ourselves to the ceiling, but 100 million isn’t the norm. We still feel good about it. We’ve always said we spend what we make and we’ve gotten a little something over the past few years put it aside. It fits perfectly and he’s a great fit for us.”

… on possible further transfers (before the game): “We currently have a fantastic team. We have excellent individual players who can also function collectively. The transfer window is still open for 14 days, let’s see what else we can do.”

… on the question of whether Manuel Neuer will be back on the pitch before the winter break (before the game): “I think I would see it that way. He is further along in his process than we were a few years ago weeks had thought.”
