In the winter, it briefly seemed as if Marc Roca had finally arrived at FC Bayern. In the absence of Joshua Kimmich, the Spaniard moved into defensive midfield with the record champions and did a solid job there. Since his seeded teammate returned, the 25-year-old’s shares have fallen rapidly again. A separation in the summer is apparently getting closer.
Admittedly, only very few observers expected that Marc Roca would quickly move into the starting eleven at FC Bayern when he signed in autumn 2020. At the same time, hopes were high that they had landed a relatively cheap stroke of luck with the 2019 Spanish U21 European champions. Only nine million euros had previously migrated from Munich to Barcelona for the services of the left foot.
So far, however, the two sides have not been happy with each other. Neither under Hansi Flick nor under Julian Nagelsmann did Roca make regular appearances. In the current season, the six have just eleven games across all competitions, seven of them as jokers.
FC Bayern and Betis already agree on framework data?
In the meantime, Roca seems to be thinking specifically about saying goodbye to Säbener Straße. That puts a report in the newspaper “Diario de SevilleAccording to this, the Spanish first division club Betis Sevilla, currently surprisingly fifth in the Primera División, is courting the strong midfield player, who in turn is said to be flirting with a return to his home country.
Even the framework data had already been discussed in talks between the clubs: Betis could reportedly loan Roca for a year from the summer and initially pay 1.5 million euros for it. In addition, there should be a purchase option for 2023 for seven million euros.
The 25-year-old still has a contract with FC Bayern that runs until 2025.
