Rumors that FC Bayern could part ways with Serge Gnabry and/or Sadio Mané after the current season are not completely new, but the finality with which the speculations are circling this time is no less than a bang. A whereabouts of the two superstars would therefore be more of a surprise.
Serge Gnabry and Sadio Mané are among the stars for whom FC Bayern would “definitely” listen to offers in the summer, according to the “Sport1” podcast “Die Bayern-Woche”. But that’s not all: the duo “actually has no future with Bayern,” says reporter Kerry Hau.
However, the quality of the offers is of course decisive, and a change is “a very difficult matter”. The question is, “which club is now paying 20 million euros for Sadio Mané, which club is paying 18 million euros for Serge Gnabry” and of course the players who would probably collect less elsewhere would have to agree, Hau explains.
To make matters worse, FC Bayern is likely to demand a lavish fee for both stars. Gnabry only extended his contract in July 2022 until the summer of 2026, Mané only came from Liverpool FC for 32 million euros before the season and is still tied until 2025.
Mané at Bayern probably offside
However, the new signing was only rarely able to fulfill the enormous hopes in his person, after a recent altercation in the dressing room culminated in Mané slapping teammate Leroy Sané in the face, the Senegalese is said to have catapulted himself permanently offside.
CEO Oliver Kahn has since confirmed that Mané had to pay a record fine of 350,000 euros. In addition, the attacker was suspended for a game.
However, should FC Bayern actually find financially strong buyers for Mané and Gnabry, they would of course have the wherewithal to add prominently to the problem position in the center of the storm. In this case, there should also be sufficient leeway in the salary budget.
