From the new start of the week at Matthijs de Ligt, FC Bayern will definitely be going full steam ahead. According to consistent media reports, Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic set out on Monday to conduct personal talks on site in Italy to find out the conditions for a transfer of the star defender from Juventus Turin. Now it has transpired that the Dutchman could be cheaper than recently rumored.
Salihamidzic, who recently made the Mané deal with Liverpool FC clear, will be accompanied on his trip by Bayern’s technical director Marco Neppe.
The contractually anchored exit clause of 120 million euros for de Ligt, to which Juventus Turin had always referred in previous inquiries, is said to have long been out of the question.
Also the Italian transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla, who writes for the renowned “Gazzetta dello Sport”, among other things, reported on Sunday that Juve is said to have said goodbye to this clause. According to the current status, the old lady’s claim for the 22-year-old is said to be between 75 and 80 million euros.
However, this only means the fixed transfer fee, further bonus payments would still have to be negotiated.
Do FC Bayern and Juve meet at 70 million?
“Sky” reporter Florian Plettenberg assumes that the direct contract talks between Juventus Turin and FC Bayern could continue to develop in favor of Munich. He suspects an agreement on a fixed fee for de Ligt of around 70 million euros.
By the way, it is by no means assumed that the two prestigious clubs will be able to reach an agreement in the coming days. Rather, a tough transfer poker can be expected, which could drag on for several more weeks.
It is clear that Bayern’s sports director Salihamidzic wants to start his trip to Italy to hold concrete transfer talks with the Serie A record champions. The Bavarians are long past the level of pure expressions of interest in the Dutch international.
Perhaps the 45-year-old will also get some luck from his own club CV. Salihamidzic was himself under contract at Juve between 2007 and 2011 and once played 61 league games for the Bianconeri.
