The basketball players of FC Bayern Munich suffered a defeat in the Euroleague despite catching up.
The game-stressed Bundesliga club lost 76:81 (31:45) at the Turkish club Fenerbahce Istanbul and remains in eighth place with a record of 13:13 wins.
The Munich team had already qualified for the playoffs on Friday. Augustine Rubit scored best for Munich with 17 points. Bayern got into the game with difficulty. After six minutes, the team of Italian coach Andrea Trinchieri was 4:16 behind. By the end of the first quarter, the Munich team were able to reduce their lead to at least eleven points (16:27/10th minute). At the break, the deficit remained in the double-digit range, with 31:45 it went into the dressing room.
Bayern came out of the cabin transformed. With a brilliant 21:2 run, the guests turned the match around within five minutes and were ahead 52:47. After 30 minutes, the Trinchieri team increased their lead to 62:54 and won the quarter 31:9.
Then Fenerbahce came back. With ten points in a row, the hosts turned the game around again (62:64). In a gripping final phase, the Turks had better nerves and narrowly won the game.
Already on Wednesday (7:30 p.m. / Magentasport) the Munich team will continue in the premier class at Anadolu Efes Istanbul. Two days later, FC Bayern make a guest appearance at Real Madrid to conclude the main round.
