Bayern improve chances of Euroleague playoffs

FC Bayern Munich has further improved its chances of making the playoffs in the Basketball Euroleague. With a 74:66 (32:27) against Red Star Belgrade, coach Pablo Laso’s team reduced the gap in tenth place to a win.

After 27 match days, Bayern are twelfth in the table and have a record of 12:15 successes. The top ten clubs reach the knockout rounds.

The guests from Serbia got into the game much better and led 19:10 after six minutes. The Munich team really got into the game with 13 points in a row. Before the break, world champion Andreas Obst caused a lot of danger with three successful three-point throws and, with nine points, played a large part in the narrow half-time lead.

The Bundesliga team defended its lead in the third quarter with the accurate Devin Booker and was also able to rely on another world champion: Isaac Bonga increased the lead to 62:54 with two three-pointers just under six minutes before the end.

However, the former NBA professional was injured afterwards and left the interior limping. The Bonga exit didn’t change anything about the third win from the last four games. Booker impressed the Laso team with 22 points.
