FC Bayern have defended their central defender Dayot Upamecano against racist comments on social media after his blunder against Manchester United.
“We all at FC Bayern strongly condemn racism! The entire club is behind you, Upa!” wrote the German soccer record champion from Munich under an Instagram picture of the 24-year-old Frenchman.
Upamecano had acted unluckily in many situations on Tuesday evening in the 0: 3 in the Champions League quarter-finals. He initiated the 0:2 with a rough mistake. Many users then racially insulted the defender.
