Bayer have fallen to 79th place in the new Deutsche Börse rankings for the Stoxx-50 from 71st place previously.
This means that Bayer are now in what is known as a near-exit position. If they were ranked 75th or worse again on the next list, they would be kicked out of the Stoxx-50 for the March review, according to the rules. The best replacement candidate are the shares of the Spanish bank BBVA.
The next ranking list will be published on the evening of March 1st. Possible index changes will be made at the closing prices on March 15th and will take effect at the opening on March 18th.
Bayer shares temporarily moved 1.45 percent higher at 28.69 euros via XETRA on Friday.
