It’s quite a gap that Borussia Dortmund has fallen behind on Bayer Leverkusen in the first twelve Bundesliga matchdays. While the Werkself have won all eleven games with the exception of the 2-2 draw against FC Bayern in September, BVB have collected a full ten points less so far and are consequently only in fourth place in the table after the twelfth matchday.
The pressure is all the greater for the Black and Yellows to take something worthwhile away from the BayArena on Sunday evening. If the game in Leverkusen is lost, the gap to head coach Xabi Alonso’s team would already be 13 points. The German championship would probably be over early.
