Bayer Leverkusen: Simon Rolfes denies interest in Robin Gosens

According to reports on Tuesday

National player Robin Gosens’ first engagement in the Bundesliga is unlikely to come about this summer. After Italian media wrote about Bayer Leverkusen’s loose interest on Tuesday and several German reports followed in the evening, according to which there had already been concrete talks with Inter Milan, a possible transfer was denied by B04 managing director Simon Rolfes on Wednesday.

“There is no offer from Bayer and there is no intention to buy him,” said the 40-year-old “Cologne City Gazette”. Instead, he suspects that Inter Milan’s speculation was spread to place Gosens on the transfer market.

The following article was published on August 30 at 8:11 p.m. before Rolfes denied it.

Noisy “Sport1”reporter Patrick Berger, the initial offer was a €2m rental fee and a €25m obligation to buy. Devin Özek, assistant to Rolfes and manager Tim Steidten, is currently in Milan and is conducting the negotiations on site.

Gosens switched to the Nerazzurri on loan from Atalanta Bergamo at the end of January, the mandatory purchase obligation next summer is 15 million euros plus 10 million bonuses. Nothing is known about exactly what the transfer model between the two Serie A clubs would look like in the event of a move to Leverkusen.

What is certain, however, is that Bayer would first have to create space in their own squad for the change from Gosens. With Mitchel Bakker (22) and Daley Sinkgraven (27) there are currently two nominal players for the position on the left flank in the squad, and Piero Hincapié (20) has also had the opportunity to try his hand there. None of the three candidates was able to convince in the long term, especially the former has been a candidate for sale for weeks. If a buyer is found for Bakker, the transfer of Gosens should become more likely.

Inter Milan: Is Stuttgart’s Borna Sosa coming as a replacement for Robin Gosens?

On the Italian side, the departure of the 13-time international would again tear a gap in the squad. Although Gosens has only come off the bench in the last two games, only Dalbert (28), who is currently injured, is available behind Federico Dimarco (24). According to the editorial board of Gianluca DiMarzio That’s why Borna Sosa came into the focus of the Milanese.

The 24-year-old Croatian has been in the shop window of the Bundesliga club like teammate Sasa Kalajdzic (25) all summer and is said to have been in agreement with Gosens’ ex-club Atalanta since last week. After reports of that agreement, however, negotiations between the clubs stalled because a transfer fee could not be agreed. According to reports, VfB is demanding more than 20 million euros for Sosa.
