Back to Brazil
Charles Aránguiz will leave Bayer Leverkusen for Brazil once his contract ends in the summer. Former club Internacional announced on Sunday that they had agreed a preliminary contract with the 33-year-old midfielder, who switched to the “Werkself” from Porto Alegre in 2015 for a fee of 13 million euros – the Chilean is still one of Bayer’s 20 most expensive transfers .
According to the club, Aránguiz has signed a preliminary contract with Internacional that will bind him to the Série A club from July 2023. The working paper will then be valid until 2025. Leverkusen, who last featured Aránguiz in October before calf problems led to a lengthy layoff, have made 168 appearances (32 goals) in the top flight. Aránguiz toyed with a return to Brazil last summer, but Leverkusen didn’t let the Chilean international go.
