SpVgg Greuther Fürth also missed the first away win in the second Bundesliga in the Bavarian duel with SSV Jahn Regensburg.
The Franconians, threatened with relegation, did not remain without a goal on Friday (October 7th, 2022) and had to settle for a 2: 2 (1: 1) at Jahn. Damian Michalski (34th minute) and Simon Asta (74th) scored for the game association in front of 10,716 spectators. Kaan Caliskaner (42nd/62nd) provided the interim lead for Regensburg.
Regensburg with a lot of control
A lot initially happened in midfield and set pieces provided the greatest goal threat. Jahn-Keeper Dejan Stojanovic was able to parry Ragnar Ache’s header after a free-kick, but he had no chance against Michalski’s follow-up shot. At the other end, the ball bounced off a corner from Caliskaner’s thigh. The equalizer was deserved because Regensburg controlled the game.
Even after the break, the game initially took place between the penalty areas – until Caliskaner appeared again with the ball in front of the opposing goal and slammed the ball powerfully into the corner. A heated final phase developed in which Asta brought the guests back into play after a cross. Scott Kennedy (87th) had the victory for more powerful Regensburg on his head, but put the ball just wide of the goal after a corner.
On the 12th matchday, Fürth welcomes FC Hansa Rostock again on Friday evening (October 14th, 2022). Regensburg travels to Kaiserslautern on the Betzenberg on Sunday.
