Bavaria’s beer is still available in Russia for the time being. The Lieshout beer brewer is active in Russia by means of a license. This means that a Russian brewery brews the Bavaria beer itself. Bavaria does supply an extract.
Bavaria announces that the Russian colleague is not on the sanctions list. For the time being, the beer is still available in Russia. Beer brewer Heineken announced on Wednesday that it would close the breweries, but this is different for Bavaria. The company does not have its own breweries in Russia.
The brewer does speak out against the violence in Ukraine. “We condemn the madness of the war in Ukraine,” the company said in a statement. “There is never any legitimacy to use military aggression in a political conflict.”
“Our thoughts are especially with the Ukrainian and Russian victims of this war that most people from both countries do not want. Above all, we hope for a quick solution to the conflict. As a company, we act in line with the sanctions policy.”
According to a spokeswoman for Bavaria, the company also has a distributor in Ukraine.
