Bassie and Adriaan launch their own game after 60 years | showbiz

showbizBas (86) and Aad van Toor (79), better known as Bassie & Adriaan, are today launching their own animation game in which they go on an adventure together with their fans. In ‘Bassie & Adriaan: A Golden Catch’, players must search for treasure by solving a variety of challenging and educational puzzles. Meanwhile, well-known villains such as the Baron, Vlugge Japie and B2 the clown and the acrobat are on their heels.

The game is suitable for children from 3 years old and is available from Monday morning via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. “It’s great to see these animated versions of ourselves,” said clown Bassie (now 86). “And the advantage is that we will always remain digitally young, so we are still experiencing a lot.”

60 years in the business

The game was developed by the Dutch game studio Midnight Pigeon, known for games such as ‘Wickie the Viking: Adventures’ and ‘Maya the Bee: The Mad Race’. Bas and Aad van Toor traveled the world as acrobats in the 1950s and 60s. They then continued as the comedy duo Bassie & Adriaan and made countless successful television series. The pair have been in the business for 60 years now.

Although Bas and Aad van Toor have had their heyday, the two are still extremely popular online. The number of views even grows by about 1.5 million every month. They recently received a special YouTube award for crossing the 100 million views mark.
