Basketball superstar Luka Doncic paid great respect to the German national team before the direct World Cup duel in Japan.
“They’re a great team. They’ve won all four games and have a good team, like every year. The head of the team is Dennis Schröder, he’s an exceptional player,” Doncic said on Friday immediately after his Slovenians scored 91:80 against Australia. It is therefore already clear before the duel on Sunday (1.10 p.m.) that both Germany and Slovenia have qualified for the quarter-finals in Manila.
Entry into the quarterfinals none matter of course
“We’re enjoying our win now, we’re going to sleep and from Saturday it’s all about Germany for us”the star player announced the Dallas Mavericks in Okinawa. The clashes between the two nations have increased in recent years.

Reaching the quarter-finals was not a matter of course given the tough group in which Olympic bronze medalist Australia was eliminated. “We had to win, no matter how. I’m really proud of how we stuck together,” said the 24-year-old Doncic. The Australians had attacked the defender hard and doubled again and again.
