The Telekom Baskets Bonn have defended their place at the top of the table in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) thanks to their sixth league win in a row.
At ratiopharm Ulm, Bonn won effortlessly with 101:92 (52:43), Tyson Ward again led his team as the best thrower with 18 points to a comfortable victory.
The success was a must for the Baskets in order to defend their lead, because champion Alba Berlin stayed on the heels of Tuomas Iisalo’s team thanks to a clear 99:74 (46:36) against the Fraport Skyliners from Frankfurt, who were threatened with relegation.
The best scorer in Berlin was forward Tim Schneider with 22 points. Bonn is still at the top of the table with 12 wins from 13 games, Alba follows with one game and one win less.
FC Bayern consolidated third place with the 78:65 (53:30) at newly promoted Rostock Seawolves.
Andrea Trinchieri’s team celebrated their eleventh win in their 13th league game, with Bayern Munich’s most successful scorer being Cassius Winston with 14 points.
