Superstar Kyrie Irving has decided to extend his contract with the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA.
“I’ve made my decision. I’ll see you in the fall”, he told the sports website The Athletic on Monday (06/27/2022). The 30-year-old takes the contract option for next season with a salary of 36.9 million US dollars. According to the report, the point guard is refraining from possible trade measures in order to finally win an NBA title at Brooklyn together with the two superstars Kevin Durant and James Harden.
Irving has been with the Nets since 2019 but has only played 103 games so far due to injuries and a lack of a Covid-19 vaccination. The Nets failed in the past season in the first round of the playoffs at the eventual finalist Boston. The New York-based franchise hasn’t reached the second round of the playoffs since 2003.
